While this method definitely works, it's much quicker to merge the shape layers using the Layers panel and Layers panel flyout menu as I suggested in the comments to Mark McDonald's answer. In order to first get all the paths on to a single layer, select all the paths you want to merge in the Layers panel. Then in the Layers panel fly-out menu, choose "Merge Shapes". Then follow the steps in this answer to merge the individual paths now on one layer into one path.
Hope this helps. Select all of your paths by using the Path's Selection Tool. Now you can do the same thing for each of the other paths. Highlight Path 3 in your Paths panel. Now you have Path 1, 3, and 4. All combined. You know how to finish it from here: Highlight Path 2, copy it and paste it to Path 1. At this point, you could delete Path 2, 3, and 4, but you may wish to save them depending on your needs.
