It is not clean. It is not safe. The city needs to do something about this place ". Like- you are close to the lake to be able to walk your dog there". It's a chance for the new and old neighbors to get to know each other. The metro stop in Rogers Park is also convenient. If you work in the west loop the metra is a great way to commute. The community is filled with people from different countries all over the world. Nigerian, Ethiopian, Ghanian and the rest. My husband and I both attended neighborhood public schools and went to public universities for undergrad and grad school. We're strong supporters of neighborhood CPS schools. The principal and teaching staff are using data-driven strategies to improve student learning, and I see a real desire to support the holistic needs of students.
Gale is one of just a few CPS schools that has a greenhouse on site as well as a community-school garden that has been a focal point for partnerships with community organizations. Our son came home with an injury, we emailed the principle to meet on a date and time to know the truth, we went to school to meet with them to know the truth, we asked for video or anything. They ignored all our requests.
